Congratulations to Laura Hannan, Karthika Murali and Manny Chahal who have all successfully passed their APC and been awarded the RICS Chartered Surveyor qualification (MRICS).
At Base Quantum we have 4 APC Assessors, Danny Frost, Priscilla Kar, Alexcia Ossei-Williams and Peter Solomon, which enables us to dedicate time and commitment to supporting our APC candidates. Our Assessors strive to impart experience and knowledge to all candidates to develop confidence for completing their professional qualification. The input from these Assessors ensures that the high standards of professionalism, ethical responsibility and professional competencies are met in order to become a Chartered Quantity Surveyor.
The APC process requires candidates to meet a set of experience requirements and demonstrate technical strength of knowledge within competencies. These are a mix of technical and professional practice, interpersonal, business and management skills. Completing the APC and the professional interview successfully leads to a professional qualification with RICS and the much sought-after letters – MRICS.
Depending on the chosen APC route, candidates need a Supervisor and/or a Counsellor to mentor them through the process. While it is vitally important for candidates to take responsibility for their own APC and career, a Supervisor and/or Counsellor advises, guides and offers support. Supervisors and Counsellors monitor progress and regularly sign off candidates’ competency achievement. At Base we have a number of professional qualified staff who undertake these roles.
Commitment is key, at Base our team prepares candidates for the application, effort and responsibility that is required to achieve this qualification and for the next part of their career. The candidates can also utilise their support network of colleagues, which includes 15 other Chartered Surveyors, with varying expertise across a broad range of sectors.
Laura Hannan, Associate Director says
I felt elated when I obtained the successful result. All the hard work and effort had paid off. The structured preparation and support that the Base Team provided during the year was invaluable in giving me the experience and confidence to sit the assessment and demonstrate my expertise.”
Base Quantum is proud to support the RICS APC process and we look forward to supporting our next year’s candidates.
