Birling Road

Tunbridge Wells, Kent

Birling Road

Background

This single dwelling property comprises 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, basement cinema room, wine cellar and vast living spaces. Externally the building is finished with render, zinc and larch, complimented by anthracite fenestration and rainwater goods.

With the property being situated at the bottom of a hill it was necessary to install a large retaining wall, surface water attenuation and pumps to discharge the rainwater.

Our Services

When Base was appointed as quantity surveyor the project had come to a stand still at approximately 30% completion, following the termination of the previous contractor.

Client Team

Contractor: Holbrook Construction Services

Architect: CL Architects (Folkestone)

Structures: BdR

MEP: Croftons

Base was required to review and understand the information available in order to appoint a new design team, re-tender the remaining works to a new contractor, and organise the connection of the new services to the existing infrastructure.

Whilst completing these services, our team kept records of the activities and costs for remediation required as a result of the previous parties in order to aid the client’s legal team.
