Background

This new build project consisted of a 5-storey residential unit comprising 1 and 2 bed apartments, and a detached 2-storey single dwelling at the rear of the site. The site was located next to the A2 carriageway in South London.

Our Services

Base Quantum was engaged by the developer to prepare a cost plan for remedial works to an existing concrete slab and frame and for completion of the build. Our team advised on procurement strategies and works packages.

Initially the developer split the works into trade packages, managing the works through its own construction division. Following completion of the enabling works, all remaining works were placed with a single contractor. As such, we prepared tender information and managed the process, including:

  • Defining the scope;
  • Preparing contract documents;
  • Dealing with tender queries; and
  • Tender evaluations and recommendations.

Following the appointment of a contractor we acted as contract administrator and quantity surveyor, undertaking the roles set out in the construction contract.
