Background

Our client was initially employed under a subcontract with a 35-week programme to install a specialist bespoke glazed curtain walling system on an 11-storey tower block. The insufficient site access provided to our client from commencement of the project, and changes to the project’s installation sequence, caused the accrual of delays and additional costs. These issues were exacerbated by the complex, bespoke nature of the subcontract and the employer’s unfamiliarity with UK construction practices.

When resolution of the situation was dismissed by the employer, Base Quantum was engaged to provide the necessary assistance and specialist advice which resulted in agreement being achieved.

Our Services

Our services were provided daily alongside guidance on reacting and responding to the developing conditions on the project.

  • Review of subcontract obligations, initiating procedures and systems to ensure compliance with notice provisions and condition precedence requirements.
  • Assessment of contract obligations for both parties.
  • Producing detailed claims for loss and expense and extension of time.
  • Providing assistance with priced variations and to ensure the correct issuing of notices for time and money.

Using our extensive experience and understanding of the subcontractor’s limited resources, we provided a service which protected the subcontractor and helped to ensure they obtained full entitlements.
