Waterloo Mansions

Background

Waterloo Mansions, situated on Dover’s historic seafront, is a Grade II listed building dating back to the 1830s. The terraces, which are residential apartments, form part of the Port of Dover’s asset holdings. Works included repairs to the mansard roof and parapet walls, dormer window refurbishment, flat roof remedial works, surface water drainage upgrades and renewal of the render and ironmongery heritage features.

The heritage aspects required significant consideration to ensure that the properties were returned to excellent condition and Base worked as part of the client to estimate costs and assist in the assessment of Contractor tenders.

  • Cost planning from RIBA stages 2 to 4;
  • Offering multiple costing options for variations in scope and specification;
